About the Author
William Collis graduated from Amherst and Harvard. He is the author of both Eternity’s Blade (published by Blackstone) and The Book of Esports (published by Rosetta Books, with translations available in Spanish, Chinese and Korean).
In addition to writing, William has co-founded multiple esports and gaming start-ups including: the coaching platform Gamer Sensei (exited to Corsair), the data analytics platform Genji (exited to EEG, NASDAQ listed), and the games tech company GEC (exited to SAS). His TED talk on video game skills has been viewed almost 1.5M times.
Beyond his books, William’s writing has appeared in numerous publications. Among the most notable including his award-winning Harvard Business School case One Game to Rule Them All, his popular HBR article How to Build a Digital Brand That Lasts, and his widely shared Japan Time’s Opinion piece Japan’s ‘Super Mario Syndrome’.

William is co-founder of the esports pro team OXG, owners of the Boston Breach Call of Duty franchise. OXG competes in many popular esports titles, including Rainbow Six: Siege. The team appeared in the Esports World Cup in 2025.
